Tens of thousands of marchers gathered April 22 in Washington, D.C., and in some 600 other places scattered across the globe for the March for Science, designed to show support for scientific research and U.S. agencies such as EPA and NASA.

A week later, crowds again filed onto the streets for the People’s Climate March. The second event again drew tens of thousands to D.C. and to hundreds of parallel marches across the U.S. and the world.
