In her newest “Global Weirding” video, Texas Tech climate scientist Katharine Hayhoe explains that extreme weather has plagued people throughout history. But today’s severe weather, fueled by climate change, is truly different from what human beings have previously experienced. And she says we need to start preparing for more bad weather to come.

Hayhoe’s “Global Weirding” series is produced by KTTZ Texas Tech Public Media and distributed by PBS Digital Studios. She expects to air new episodes on YouTube every other Wednesday.
